2011 Calgary Halloween Party Guide

With Halloween but a couple weeks away, we wanted to bring a you a list of spooky proportions of the best bests for events on this year’s Calgary circuit. Check out some of the following entries that are definitely worth noting.

Scream Fest | October 7th through 31st
Scream Fest is Canada’s largest and scariest Halloween Festival. At Scream Fest you’ll experience haunted houses, Halloween themed carnival games, creepy and disturbing entertainment, and of course, plenty of frightful thrills.

Halloween Howl Walk/Run | October 23rd
Calling all witches, goblins and ghosts! Join the Alberta Diabetes Foundation (ADF) for the Annual Halloween Howl Walk/Run to find a cure for diabetes. 3km and 5km Fun Run/Walk and 10km Run.

Psycho – Halloween Curtain Call (CPO) | Friday, October 28th, 10pm
Teatro Restaurant, 200 8 Ave SE
Step into the Bates Motel and onto centre stage as you compete against fellow concert-goers for the title of best psycho before the shower curtain falls. Watch the original movie live with the CPO, then cross the street where the top murder scene performance will be crowned the ultimate psycho. Warning: Survive until midnight and the actors won’t be the only ones screaming…

Monster Ball | Friday, October 28
Art Central, 100 – 7 Ave SW
Prospect Human Services presents the 7th Annual Monster Ball. Welcoming up to 400 art supporters, Halloween enthusiasts and friends of Prospect, it is one of Calgary’s premiere Halloween galas. Held on all three levels of Art Central, the unique open-centre stairwell design gives guests the ability to monster watch from any vantage point. Enjoy elegant edibles and two complimentary beverages. This year’s theme, “Eclipse: Dark vs. Light,” highlights the classic battle of good vs. evil and guests are invited to “pick a side” with their costumes.
