Is it just us, or are commercials becoming as powerful and moving as film is these days?
The latest ad that will make you bust out the tissues and watch twice is an unofficial spec for Adidas.
Student director, 26-year-old Eugen Merher of Germany, shows the experts how it’s done in the spot, which will make anyone with grandparents in retirement homes or aging parents want to cry (don’t say we didn’t warn you).
In the commercial, we see a former marathon runner who is now in a retirement home, longing to run the way he once did.
When he finds a pair of old Adidas sneaks, he does everything in his power to make this a reality.
Well it’s one of the more brilliant ads we’ve seen as of late, don’t expect to see it scooped up by Adidas.
“We tried sending it to [Adidas’] communications department but they didn’t really react,” Merher told The Huffington Post.
Now that the commercial has gone insanely viral, perhaps they’ll reconsider.
