Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: March 25, 2014

Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do to jumpstart your Tuesday.*

Music
Where: The Danforth Music Hall
When: 8:00pm

The now, all-female band, Warpaint will be bringing their indie sound to the Danforth stage. Five years ago this group got some help from a couple of guys in a little band called The Red Hot Chili Peppers and launched onto the scene. Since then, they’ve only managed to put out a pair of albums but they’ve received wide spread attention for both. If you like the sound of this then you should probably try and get a ticket. And just so we’re clear, warpaint isn’t a literal term here – leave your makeup at home.

Voices
Date: March 25
Location: The Berkeley Church, 315 Queen Street E.

This public speaking competition intends to address the theme, “Toronto State of Mind: What Defines Our City?” by inviting George Brown College, Centennial College, and Seneca College students to share their insights as to what they believe makes this city so great. Natasha Koifman, President of Toronto public relations firm NKPR, will be on the panel of judges to see what the next generation has to say for itself. Let’s hope they can tear themselves away from their phones long enough to put 2gether a good sentence or 2.

Sausages
Where: Butchers of Distinction 738 Queen St E, Toronto
When: 6:30pm

This is all about getting some hands-on experience with real meat. Butchers of Distinction uses only the best local, antibiotic free, hormone free, free-range meat, and promises to have you grinding, stuffing, twisting, and tying like a pro by the time the three-hour sausage making course is over. After this, you’ll be the undisputed barbeque king (if summer actually ever shows up). Well, either that or the whole thing will just look a lot like this…

*Childish Gambino is playing a second night at the Sound Academy so you really have no excuse whatsoever to stay in.
