On Our Radar: Dine Out For Life Vancouver 2014

Now celebrating its 20th Anniversary, Dine Out For Life is British Columbia’s largest hospitality fundraiser that has steadily expanded to include restaurants throughout the Lower Mainland, Whistler and White Rock. With more than 100 participating restaurants committed to donating 25% of the evening’s food sales to support those living with and affected by HIV/AIDS, that’s a lot of money going back to an incredibly worthy cause. Here’s how this one-day event helps provide much needed assistance to men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in BC:

All proceeds directly benefit the programs and services provided free-of-charge by registered not-for-profits Friends For Life and A Loving Spoonful. Funds raised assist with providing more than 110,000 delivered meals each year in Metro Vancouver and surrounding areas as well as nutritional counseling, meal planning, support therapies and more. Donations made also assist with a weekly hot lunch program for youth affected by HIV/AIDS and provide essential end-of-life care to homebound clients.

Hungry to help yet? We think you ought to be by now, so start planning and reserve a table at one of the many restaurants around town that are on board for this event by checking out the DOFL 2014 list here.

If you need any more convincing, DOFL has even more to entice you out for a night on the town. As part of their 20th anniversary year, they’re launching a special social media contest for one lucky, social-media savvy diner. Up for grabs is $500 just for posting a foodie shot with the hashtag #DOFL20. Now that’s definitely worth noting.
