Live Below The Line

If we’re going to defeat poverty, we have to truly understand it. Live Below The Line challenges you to explore what poverty means for more than a billion people worldwide by confining yourself to eating on their budget – less than $1.75 a day. For the next five days, thousands of Canadians will dedicate their diet to this educational experiment that aims to deepen comprehension. Here are the rules. Can you survive on less than $10 this week?
Jameson Cocktails
Where: College St. Bar
When: 7:00pm
20 contestants have been selected to create the ultimate Jameson cocktail. They’ll have eight minutes to present two examples for judges while they also put together several small samples for the audience (aka: you) to try. And even though math isn’t our strong suit, we’re pretty sure that’s a lot of samples. The winning cocktail will be featured on the menu for the month of May and the winning bartender will be sent to Ireland to attend the Jameson Global Bartenders Ball. Your vote matters.
Mixed Comedy
Where: The Comedy Bar
When: 8:00pm
“Mixed Company pairs eight notable Canadian actors with eight notable Canadian improvisers for a truly mixed company. All of the actors have been given direction and are fully scripted with costume and minimal set. The Improviser is their unscripted scene partner.” And we didn’t even have to throw in the word notable – they did it for us. Tonight’s mix-up features eight actors from Degrassi. How could this not be hilarious?
*Of course, no one would blame you for staying in to watch the highlights over and over.
