The Fashion & Design Festival (FMD) is back celebrating Montreal’s creativity in downtown Montréal.
We love this event because it truly offers a diverse program, including fashion shows, multidisciplinary shows, live art installations, musical performances, real-time design, amazing conferences, and – let’s not forget – the stylish stiletto race.
Over four days and four nights, some 50 shows will be presented, featuring renowned Canadian designers and leading names in international fashion like Ardene, Le Chateau, Antoine Laoun, La Vie En Rose, and many more.
Aside the amazing daily fashion shows and exhibits, we are most excited about the FMD Conferences which feature a program full of movers-and-shakers that include the largest ever lineup of internationally renowned speakers from the world of fashion and design the FMD has ever delivered.
Some standouts include:
Marc-Antoine Coulon, a Paris fashion illustrator who made a name for himself with illustrations for Vogue, L’Officiel Paris, Madame Figaro, Palace Costes, and other major brands. He is involved in several personal projects, including a tribute exhibition to Yves Saint Laurent.
Vincent Leret, an Art historian and archeologist who is in charge of heritage at Christian Dior Parfums. He has written several books about Christian Dior, including Dior: Les Parfums.
Peter Simons, CEO of La Maison Simons, a Quebec company that has been active in the garment sector since 1830. La Maison Simons currently has a network of nine shops and close to 2,000 employees.
And that’s just a small portion of the amazing talent that will be gracing these conferences. You can check out the rest of the schedule here.
The public is invited to attend the FMD conferences, which will run from August 17 to 21 at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal.
