The Best Pizza Restaurant in Toronto as Voted by You

And the winner is:

Pizzeria Via Mercanti.

This wasn’t nearly as close as the vote for best slice. With more than half of the total votes, and just about double the votes of the second place finisher, Pizzeria Via Mercanti definitively took top spot as the city’s best pizza restaurant in our reader’s eyes.

With over 20 Neapolitan-style pizzas – about half of them “white pizza” – this classic spot, with both a Kensington and an Elm Street location, proved that authenticity can be just as powerful as trend. It’s also possible that their amazing desserts had some sway on the voting…

In an unsurprising show on the podium Pizzeria Libretto took second place, and was also really the only other restaurant to gather a substantial amount of votes. Powerhouse Terroni was a distant 17 points back from Libretto, not too far ahead of the currently expanding Queen Margherita Pizza (new location opening up soon at 772 Dundas West).

Below you’ll find a pie chart that breaks down all the votes. Take a look, and if you disagree with what you see, let us know in the comment section. Or, next time, get over your crustiness and vote…
