We came. We saw. We partied.
Oh, and we also handed out a few awards to some of Western Canada’s most notable young professionals (YPs).
And Vancouver – you were amazing.
Last Wednesday, at Imperial Vancouver we brought together hundreds of the top Canadian YPs, VIPs, and leaders from British Columbia and Alberta for a night like nothing they’d ever seen before.
And like nothing they’d ever forget.
Walking past the sleek new Ford Fusion Hybrid on their way to the red carpet, YPs were given a glimpse of the level of style they were about to get used to.
The ceremony started with a buzz.
Tables of young professionals settled in to their seats as Robert Mondavi hit their glasses and JOEY Restaurants filled their plates with platter after platter of mouthwatering dishes. Think: Mediterranean bruschetta, assorted curries, and desserts to die for, all custom designed for the evening by JOEY Restaurants’ Executive Chef Chris Mills.
While the wine and food flowed freely, Notable CEO Julian Brass stepped to the stage to welcome everyone to the first ever Western Canada Notable Awards, share our origin story, and focus on the importance of celebrating hard work, passion, and commitment.
As winners were announced, they were invited on stage to participate in a Q&A that gave the audience insight into their individual successes.
Notable icons Frank Giustra and Jonny Staub of The Beat 94.5 FM also took the stage to present categories and congratulate winners.
Jason Priestley (Celebrity), Riaz Meghji (Entertainment), and Kaillie Humphries (Sports & Fitness – also two time Olympian), and Fusion Go Further Award winner, Taylor Conroy, all sent in video acceptance speeches that both lamented their inability to be in attendance and thanked the city of Vancouver and Notable for the honour.
The VIP Cocktail session had finalists and special guests mingling and sipping on more wine and spirits from Finlandia, Gentleman Jack, and Herradura. Oh course, Petite Puf’s organic cotton candy flavours certainly made a run at party photo prop of the night while sushi balls and sliders from Cocktails & Canapes and burrata and prosciutto from West Oak were also definite stand outs.
Then the doors opened for the after-party – with a line up of guests already waiting to get in. More young professionals filled Imperial, packing the bar, snapping selfies, and basically bringing down Twitter (yes, #NotableAwards was trending in Van).
This was the best Hump Day to hit Vancouver all year.

And look out, Montreal and Toronto, you’re next.
The Quebec Notable Awards Powered by Fusion will be taking over Montreal on November 26th and the Ontario Notable Awards Powered by Fusion will be doing the same to Toronto on December 4th.
