On Our Radar: Novus Nights

First off, Novus Nights is set to redefine charitable events that have a high appeal factor for young professionals. With details sourced directly from one of the organizers, Sophie Perodeau (herself a young professional with a huge passion for the event’s beneficiary, The Zajac Foundation), this is one party not to miss.

Novus Nights will take place at one of our city’s arguably most iconic locations, The Vancouver Club, and will all but take over the expansive, historic space with rooms artfully transformed for the event. Attendees can expect to be entertained by Cirque du Soleil performers and talented musicians such as Amanda Wood, Alex Maher, and Hey Ocean!

Novus Nights promises to be one party young professionals of the city can’t miss out on and boasts a multitude of experiences that are often lacking at other fundraiser affairs – complete with themed rooms (we plan on beelining our way to the Pirate and BLG Circus rooms). Each space will feature a custom cocktail and unique groove, with DJs mixing the music, so be sure to wear your dancing shoes. Look for GirlOnWax, and DJ PatLok as well as Mostly Marley to help you get your groove on. Head to the Miami themed WHITE OUT room where you can lay back in a cabana or channel your inner adventurer and be sure to stop by the cruise-style patio as well as the Finning-sponsored Mediterranean room where we’re told to expect the unexpected.

Beyond the dancing and free-flowing cocktails, young professionals will have ample opportunity to mingle with the crème de la crème of our city’s movers and shakers (they are expecting 800 guests in total). In additon to cocktail-style chit-chat, there will also be a “Priceless Raffle” that will give one lucky entrant the chance to enjoy a dozen individual lunches or dinners with key influencers from Vancouver. You could dine across from notable individuals such as Rob Macdonald, Jim Treliving, Sam Feldman and Olympian Charmaine Crooks… and many more.

The fact that this inaugural event has been planned by The Zajac Young Professionals, which is a volunteer group dedicated to the continued successful growth of the Ranch, translates as worth noting in our books. Young professionals have been able to collaboratively work with a strong and established group of long-time supporters of the Ranch for cross-generational planning for this event, the intention being to see Novus Nights raise the bar on charity galas in Vancouver.

Well, that’s more than piqued our interest. We’ll be sure to offer up our take on the scene after the weekend’s event. In the meantime, click here to learn more about the Zajac Ranch and hear founder Mel Zajac share his story and purchase your tickets before the event sells out here

Novus Nights takes place on Saturday, May 4th at 7pm at The Vancouver Club, located at 915 W. Hastings Street.
