Opening This Weekend: Bar Isabel
It’s been awhile coming, and this weekend we’ll be treated to the first dinner services of Grant van Gameren (formerly of the Black Hoof) and Max Rimaldi’s (formerly of Enoteca Sociale and Pizzeria Libretto) new restaurant, Bar Isabel (797 College Street West). Expect delectable dishes reminiscent of why we fell in love with van Gameren’s cooking in his former roles.

Just Opened: Queen Margherita Pizza at Baby Point
At 785 Annette Street in the Baby Point neighbourhood, you’ll now find the second location of long-time foodie favourite Queen Margherita Pizza. Keeping up with their famed pizza dough recipe and cooking techniques, the new location is welcome news for West Enders who previously had to trek to the far reaches of Leslieville to enjoy some of that Neapolitan pizza perfection.

Just Opened: Jazz Bistro
On the quiet strip of Victoria Street (at 251) that borders Yonge and Dundas Square, Jazz Bistro is aiming to raise the noise levels. Open currently for lunch, Jazz Bistro will launch their full dinner menu and hours in early April. Expect live music, tons of jazz, and some fantastic eats when Jazz Bistro is in full mode in the coming weeks.

Good Food and Drink Festival
From April 5 through 7 at the Direct Energy Centre (found inside Exhibition Place), the Good Food and Drink Festival will bring just that: really good food and drinks. With dozens of exhibitors, Eat St. food trucks, celebrity chefs, demonstrations, and more, this is one show no self-proclaimed foodie will want to miss.

Harry’s Spring Run Off
Tie those laces, stretch those calves, and fill your reusable water bottles because Harry’s Spring Run Off takes to the streets on April 6. Registrants’ donations will help support Prostate Cancer and the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Leading off from High Park, do some good for yourself and for others with either the 5k or 8k run/walk.

Ancient Prom
Travel back through time to the mysticism of lost civilizations at Ancient Prom on April 6, the annual mass fundraising event by the Young Patrons Circle for the Royal Ontario Museum. Hosted by MTV’s Aliya-Jasmine Sovani and CP24’s Gurdeep Ahluwalia, Ancient PROM at the ROM (100 Queen’s Park) will be an unforgettable night of entertainment, dancing, luxurious lounges, and gourmet fare.
