This year’s challenge for the talented chefs is to re-invent the celebrated ‘taco’ to gourmet status. The attendees get to decide the final winner. The evening will also include amazing street entertainment and groove rhythms, while enjoying the most scenic views of Montreal. All profits of this tasty evening will support Dans La Rue, an organization helping young people get off the streets.

DJ Abeille seems to be the hot thing in town tonight as she’s jumping over to launch a new evening at one of St.Laurent Boulevard’s premiere party spots, Restaurant Globe. Golden Thursdays starts tonight and will offer delectable food such oysters at $1 a pop and wonderful a wine selection amongst other dishes and drinks. The atmosphere is said to be eclectic, featuring old school hip-hop/R&B and a touch of new. Start the weekend here, it’s the perfect intro to what will be one of the most entertaining weekends of the year so far.

FRIDAY
Red Bull never disappoints when it comes to two things: fun and extreme. Here they are again, bringing their Mini Drome to Montreal! The event is interactive so we can all participate; have we got the cojones and guts to do it? If you choose to accept the challenge, you will navigate around a unique and technically challenging course reaching speeds close to 80 km/h among other riders. Hundreds of competitors will have the opportunity to qualify in a single timed race using the Velotrack Timing System. The racers with the quickest time across 10 laps will progress through the competition to the finals, which will be a single pursuit race format.

Register and find out about Red Bull Mini Drome here. Qualifying The event starts at 6pm, followed by the main race at 11pm, and the after party at New City Gas from midnight and on. Party on you brave souls – you will deserve it!

For a more intimate affair, Old Montreal’s chic pub with a British flavour and French accents, Mechant Boeuf, is celebrating its 5th anniversary with a very special live performance from a famous Montreal band. The event starts at 9pm at the Salle Royale at Hotel Nelligan featuring wonderful food and people.

Space is very limited so reservations are highly recommended. The after party will take place at the Mechant Boeuf with beats by DJ Alex May until 3am. For information and bookings click here.

SATURDAY
Coca-Cola is known for their grandiose events and Montreal is getting hit with one today…for free! It’s the Coca-Cola Block Party hosted by Chélie from Musique Plus with special guests:
Sean Paul, Down With Webster and many more. There are other secret guests but you will just have to wait until you attend the event to see who it is.
Gather yourself and your crew and head to the Jacques-Quartier Quay in the Old Port of Montreal to be a part of Montreal’s coolest party.
There will be concerts, prizes, activities, dancers and more.

The Montreal Burlesque Festival is back and sexier than ever. For the fourth consecutive year, Countess Scarlett James and Montreal Burlesque Productions invite you to enjoy a weekend full of glitter, sensuality, fishnet stockings, and other lascivious dances. As usual, Scarlett brings you the best for you to be charmed. These international performers will reveal their best assets. The evening promises to relive the atmosphere of the cabaret. Seduce, surprise and charm; one thing is certain: you will not leave the party without a touch of excitement.

SUNDAY
Our boys at Matinee are at it again with Pretty In Pink, their most anticipated event yet in association with The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation (QBCF) and MOËT & CHANDON. Matinee will be kick-starting breast cancer awareness month with Montreal’s favourite brunch party. They are specifically requesting for guests to get creative because everything about this party will be PINKED out from the drinks to the decor – you will feel that you’re partying on a pink marshmallow cloud. The dynamic duo of Danny Torrence and Toddy Flores will be hitting the decks and throwing it down to ensure everyone’s shaking their groove-thang (uh-huh). Table reservations are going very fast, so we advise to book quickly. Of course a generous portion of profits generated shall go to the QBCF.

For those of you that don’t like an early bedtime on Sundays, La Ruelle is happening. Tucked underneath one of Montreal’s internationally-renowned venues, La Ruelle is the new home of the unconventional Sunday night hangout.

Sundays at La Ruelle are about music and the people who love it. From old school urban gems to future classics, a feel good vibe is the motive. Influenced by such nights as ‘Ice Cream Sundays’, ‘Time Cafe Tuesdays’ and ‘The Good Old Days of Suco Tuesdays’, Montreal party people and night owls now have another reason to play.
