Love A Heart Bachelor and Bachelorette Auction

Young professionals, charity circuit regulars and local celebrities alike came together at the Hideout on Queen West February 9 to raise money and awareness for the Love A Heart charity auction. Twenty local bachelors and bachelorettes hit the stage to be auctioned off in front of a room of 300 eagerly waiting singles looking for their chance at a notable date.

The bids started flowing in right from the start as the night’s first female candidate drew an impressive $250. With the first round in full swing, The Hour‘s George Stroumboulopoulos drew a host of cheers from the giddy single females in the audience perhaps looking for their own shot in front of the camera.

As expected, Toronto social media princesses Casie Stewart and Lauren White (Raymi the Minx) turned some heads (perhaps it was Lauren’s brief burlesque show?) and had the gentlemen in a frenzy.

The evening was a complete success, raising $11,301 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation. The total raised this year marked an increase of $2300 from last year’s event, which was around 10% of the total money raised during Toronto heart month. Notable contributions came from George Stroumboulopoulos and Kerry Morrison, who matched the amount bid on them.

We’re already looking forward to next year…
