Last Minute VDay Hot Spots in Vancouver

The highly-anticipated day (or not) has arrived and you're still stuck without plans for dinner...you'd be surprised how many fellow young professionals are in the same situation. For a last-minute romantic hot spot, check out these three notable picks

The big day is here at last. You’ve got the card, the box of chocolates and perhaps a little something extra…now to find the perfect place to park yourselves for a memorable bite to eat. With so many dining options in our city, we’ve taken a look at a few noteworthy spots offering special Valentine’s Day selections worth checking out.

Two Chefs and a Table is offering a sweet, five-course themed feast for $75 at their quaint and cozy Railtown location (305 Alexander Street). Expect dishes that draw inspiration from the world’s best destinations for romance; think Rome, Paris and New York, for starters. Courses are accompanied by a wine of the same country to further enhance the experience. Be tempted by wild Pacific mushroom soup, fois gras and grilled tenderloin served with crispy gnocchi as you sip on a sinfully good glass of Bonarda. This is one spot we think you ought to note.  Tempt those taste buds further by checking out their full menu here

Next on our list is Tableau Bistro at the Loden Hotel, another worthwhile spot with a specially-crafted menu for Valentine’s Day. We love Tableau’s take on traditional French fare with a fresh West Coast twist. Executive Chef Marc-Andre Choquette has created a delectable selection of dishes guaranteed to help create a memorable Valentine’s meal that won’t break your YP budget ($55). We’re already craving the seared scallops and ravioli…and it’s only morning! Take a peek at their full menu and try to score yourself a seat.

Rounding out our trio of best bets for Valentine’s dining in YVR, consider booking a table at another noteworthy favourite, Novo Pizzeria and Wine Bar in Kitsilano. Upon opening this past Fall, we’ve been back for ‘taste tests’ several times since and are never disappointed. We love Novo’s warm and welcoming atmosphere, tasty selection of  Italian favourites and never ending choice of wines available by the glass – what’s not to enjoy? They’re offering a special Valentine’s Day menu (smartly priced at $39) guaranteed to please. Recommended: try their take on meat balls and nosh on their Diavolo pizza before you tuck into a grand finale trio of chocolate mousse.
