Event Recap: Deighton Cup Weekend at the Races 2013

Long before our eventual arrival at the track, there was a palpable sense of excitement as handfuls of gorgeously dressed guests gradually trickled toward the event’s main entrance. After registration, we were handed our lunch and drink tickets, guide to the day’s festivities, and ongoing races. We thought the addition of the extra pair sunglasses were a nice touch (for those who forgot their own).

Music from a variety of talented performers wafted through the venue throughout the day just as easily as the Veuve Clicquot.

Champers in hand, we strolled over to check out the signature setup of classic and cutting-edge cars, courtesy of Miles End Motors.  Helping ante-up the luxury factor of the day’s event, a plethora of finely tuned, four-wheeled machines had been arranged on the lawn overlooking the course (we’re talking Lamborghinis, Bentleys and Benzs, for starters).

Decked out in summer’s finest attire, partygoers took the opportunity to pose for photos throughout the stunning outdoor venue. As has become the signature, underlying draw of this event, there was no shortage of style at Thoroughbred – rather, it’s a buffet of sorts.

A parade of well-heeled guests seemed on constant rotation and we loved checking out the polish and poise. Elaborately decorated floppy hats, fascinators and breezy cocktail styles more than caught our eye throughout the day.

But it wasn’t all about the fashion. There was plenty of mingling to be done, and this being one of the biggest events of the summer, it was a great opportunity to connect with other like-minded young professionals in a relaxed luxe atmosphere.
