Canadian Ice Climbers Scale Frozen Niagara Falls

We’re all aware of the barreling descents people have taken down Niagara Falls. 

Going up the world’s most powerful waterfall, on the other hand, is a first. 

Canadian ice climbers Will Gadd and Sarah Hueniken – Will climbing, Sarah belaying – achieved the daredevil feat this week when they scaled a 30-foot frozen section of the great horseshoe.  

So, how does that feel, exactly? 

“It vibrates your intestines and makes you feel very, very small. I’ve never experienced anything like it,” Gadd said upon reaching the summit of the falls.

How many times can you say you’ve had an intestine-vibrating experience?

Red Bull, of course, was behind the production, which they had to keep secret until the ascent for obvious reasons. The energy drink giant planned to release the footage after the Super Bowl, but news leaked and, to our delight, the video is now available:
