Where to Watch Super Bowl XLIX in Toronto

Sometimes you just don’t feel like going to a potluck.

There is an amazing energy to watching the big game at a public venue. Everybody is dressed up, the chili and beer are flowing, servers are in costume, the volume is cranked, and with each big play comes a table-trembling roar.

Just because you can’t be at the game doesn’t mean you can’t be part of the crowd.

Here are this year’s best spots in Toronto (that you still might get into) to throw on the gear and get right into the action of Super Bowl XLIX.

Shoeless Joe’s (King & Duncan)
For your $25 ticket you get your reserved seats as well as thousands of dollars in prizes (including a chance to win a trip to Vegas), as well as an all-you-can-eat halftime buffet. The evening starts at 4pm and is hosted by Cam Stewart, music provided by DJ Dan.

The Office Pub
For $35 you’ll get three domestic beers and an all-you-can-eat buffet that includes hotdogs, wings, nachos, perogies, spring rolls, pasta and chilli. You’ll also get a halftime burlesque show, $5 pints, $4 mixed drinks, and entry into a draw for a $1,000 travel voucher and a 50-inch flatscreen.

SPiN
The big special is “The Big Package,” which is $45/person and requires a minimum of 10 people. It includes chips and dip, a veggie platter, curry chicken sliders, beef sliders, a cheese board, three tall cans of PBR and bottomless popcorn. They’re also doing a bucket of four tall PBRs for $22. Ping-pong optional and included.

Firkin on King
$5 pints of Moosehead and Hop City Brewing Co., and if you order a stein of Moosehead and a pound of wings, you get it for only $13 and you get to keep the stein. Reservations are available.

Speakeasy 21
$5 for mixed drinks and bottled beer. They will also be doing giveaways with each touchdown.

William’s Landing
Eighteen TVs, two big screens, and a pig roast. They’re also doing a Fireball whiskey tasting with the Fireball Girls, and Fireball shots are $3 all night. Party kicks off at 5pm.

The Loose Moose
$3 Caesars on Sundays and some personal platter deals for the big game; in general, every big sporting event results in a massive scene here.

THR & Co.
$5 Budweiser, Coors and Jack Daniels. They will also have draws, prizes and giveaways.

Boots & Bourbon Saloon
Who couldn’t use a little Southern twang at their football party? This year they’re doing a pig roast, offering drink specials and doing prizes and giveaways.
