Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: May 13, 2014

Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do on the day after the Habs forced Game 7.*

Lana Del Rey
Where: Sony Centre for the Performing Arts
When: 8:00pm

Currently scorching her way across North America, with her (possibly Dan Auerbach-produced) third full length, Ultraviolence, sneaking in and serving notice along the way, LDR is captivating audiences with her trademark hip-hop vocal cadence, breathy innuendo, and lush, orchestral, retro-pop sound. Here’s your chance, Toronto. Because she’s here to change minds. (Check out the rest of our monthly music round-up here).

Bachelorette
Where: RED Sandcastle Theatre, 922 Queen St. E.
When: 8:00pm

What happens when a group of women get together 10 years out of high school to celebrate a friend’s wedding? Well, we’re assuming a lot if they’re all filled with jealousy and resentment. This prenuptial bender promises to be a dark comedy that delves into the murkiest corners of female friendship in an age of excess. Sounds uncomfortably wonderful to us.

Foster The People
Where: Massey Hall
When: 8:00pm

Remember this song? Of course you do. What we bet you don’t remember is that it was released almost four years ago. So it makes sense that this California band released a second album, Supermodel, back in March. It’s been receiving mixed reviews but if this guy also happens to ‘dance’ his way across the stage you’ll definitely be happy you decided to go. Just don’t forget your shoes.

*Of course, no one would blame you for staying in, ‘cause elevators be dangerous
