Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: March 4, 2014

Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do on the day after Monday.*

1. Pancake Tuesday
Where: Anywhere there’s a kitchen
When: All Day

If you didn’t enjoy a decent flapjack this morning, don’t worry, there are still a few meals left in the day to make it happen. This moveable feast’s tradition, known as Shrove Tuesday, is all about lent. Whether or not you participate in giving up anything for the next 40 days, this is a great excuse to hit up your favourite breakfast for dinner. Just don’t find the girl of your dreams or things could get tricky…

2. Imagine Dragons
Where: ACC
When: 7:00pm

When Billboard names you “The Breakthrough Band of 2013” and Rolling Stone calls your single (Radioactive) “the biggest rock hit of the year,” you’re kind of a big deal. Now with a Grammy in their pocket and an SNL appearance on their resume, we suspect Imagine Dragons will be putting on a show to remember. This is your chance to see a band at the beginning of a long rise – welcome to the new age.

3. The Reel Paddling Film Festival
Where: The Royal
When: 6:30pm

If you’ve ever been in a canoe, held a paddle, or just saw water at some point in your life, we think you’re going to enjoy Rapid Media’s 9th annual Reel Paddling Film Festival. Sit back and catch the best whitewater kayaking film, best canoeing film, best fishing film, and more – all while a 100% of your money goes directly to supporting Project Canoe, a Toronto-based youth charity program which aims to foster a transformative environment for young people using the outdoors as a primary medium. Go sit inside to get others outside.

*Of course, no one would blame you for staying in all night to watch the hot mess that was this.
