Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: March 31, 2014

Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do to kick off your week.*

Spring Thaw
Where: Palais Royale (1601 Lake Shore Blvd. West)
When: 7:00pm

After Toronto’s first sunny spring day that actually managed to stay above zero, it seems appropriate that The Canadian Chefs’ Congress is bringing together 20 of our nation’s top chefs for a culinary event and fundraiser to celebrate the arrival of a new growing season. The collection of spring-themed bites will highlight the best organic and non-GMO produce Ontario has to offer. There will also be live jazz playing, ‘cause everyone knows live jazz helps food taste better.

Miley Cyrus
Where: ACC
When: 7:00pm

We know, we hate to admit it too. But when this little wrecking ball comes to town it’s kind of a big deal. Not necessarily because you’re going to go to the concert, but because there’s a high chance we’ll all be talking about her antics tomorrow. She’s a one-woman show whether she’s singing or not and somewhere, alone in a dark room, this song plays on repeat and Billy Ray wonders how it all went so wrong.

Books on Film
Where: TIFF Bell Lightbox
When: 7:00pm

Eleanor Wachtel of CBC’s Writers & Company has been hosting the fourth season of Books on Film throughout the winter and spring and tonight’s event welcomes internationally celebrated filmmaker Agnieszka Holland to discuss her 1997 adaptation of Henry James’ classic novel about the conflict between a sheltered young woman and her domineering father in the high society of 1850s New York. Switch the pronoun and we assume it’s a lot like this

*If you’re above going to see Miley than maybe this is more your speed. Enjoy.
