Recaps: Catch Re–opening and Church My Style

Catch ReOpening
One of Calgary’s best restaurants opened its doors this past week after a two month revamp and Notable was invited to attend the exclusive media launch event. Well, there we were able to preview first-hand the fresh new design and approachable coastal feel that is Catch & The Oyster Bar. The oysters were shucked and the bubbles flowing as a constant parade of tasting dishes featuring new tastes and Catch signatures created by Executive Chef Kyle Groves were handed out. Though Catch & The Oyster Bar has been a favourite spot for many Notable Calgarians, their fresh approach is bound to reel in even more YPs. Check them out on Facebook and Twitter.

Church My Style
Sunday September 18th saw Notable Calgary Women up early to attend Church My Style. Taking place periodically in Calgary, the Sunday brunch services include seminars on style, fashion shows and inspirational speakers. Now in its fourth year, this incredible event is the brainchild of Kim Flanagan (a local stylist). Teaming with PR powerhouse Jason Krell, this event brings a whole new meaning to “Sunday Service.” With a mandate to empower women and a few stylish men, Sunday’s event featured a fashion show, shopping, and the musical talents of Jocelyn Alice. One of the highlights, however, was definitely having Skinny Bitch author, Kim Barnouin, in attendance (this was her only Canadian appearance for her latest book tour). After the fashion show she addressed the room and shared about her experiences and journey leaving every YP in the room inspired.
