Recap: Reflections Sneak Peek at Hotel Georgia

Last week we were privy to the VIP and media sneak peek cocktail party at what we’re certain will be Vancouver’s next premiere spot to see and be seen.

Nestled in the heart of the downtown hustle and bustle, in the newly transformed historic Hotel Georgia, we discovered Reflections – an urban oasis situated on the 4th floor terrace. The massive open-air bar and lounge space calls to mind the hip, classy yet laid-back patio hot spots you’d expect to find in LA or NYC.

Reflections manages to capture a sense of nouveau elegance and tranquility perfectly: framing a huge central fire-pit and clusters of teak, over-stuffed couches with infinity fountains, manicured greenery and water features. This is indeed one place we’ll happily return to again and again.

Nosh-worthy appetizers (think juicy grilled lamb chops, succulent sushi and delectable West Coast-style charcuterie) were paraded around during the soiree. A central island style bar was packed with guests clamouring for a customized vintage cocktail (ask for the Boulevardier). We opted for a glass of BC wine from their carefully-chosen, well-priced wine list and sat back for a bit of people-watching.

And people-watching we did.

Reflections offers a relaxed look and feel that (coupled with lively beats), sets the mood for all visiting patrons – no pretence needed. You can easily find yourself in the centre of all the action, or tuck yourself into a cozy nook for an intimate tête-à-tête.

As we ease into Fall, we think Notables ought to add this sexy spot to your list of go-to lunch spots or places to find a fantastic après-work fix.
