On Our Radar: Pizzeria Libretto is Coming to Downtown Toronto

By Lisa Lagace

Their pizza is already legendary in this city, but Pizzeria Libretto wasn’t content to rest on the success of its West (Ossington) and East (Danforth) end locations.

They wanted to give the downtown core a taste too.

And with a University Avenue location opening soon (yes, it’ll be on the PATH), they’re set to do just that.

While the firm opening date isn’t set yet, we promise to keep you in the loop as soon as their Forno gets fired up and the authentic smells of Neapolitan ‘za start causing even more traffic jams downtown.

If you’re not already familiar with Chef Rocco Agostino’s pies, you’re doing your taste buds a disservice.

And that’s because his VPN-certified Neapolitan pizzas are cooked to the perfect char, in a 900-degree, wood-burning oven made personally for the restaurant in Naples, Italy. And Chef Rocco’s insistence on using only San Marzano tomatoes, Fiore di Latte mozzarella, and naturally leavened Italian Caputo dopio zero flour means this is as close to Southern Italy as you’ll find anywhere in the city.

Lunch and dinner in downtown Toronto is about to get a game-changer. Hope you’re ready to play.
