Now Open in Richmond: Zee’s Grilled Cheese

In the dead of winter, all we want to do is hibernate.

When daylight disappears by the time we leave the office, we can’t even begin to think of cooking – it can be a daunting after a long day.

Zee’s Grilled Cheese, a father-daughter operation, has set up shop in the Steveston neighbourhood to remedy the situation. And while that may be a trek for some, the cheesy goodness is worth it.

Take it to go or hang for a bit – it’s up to you.

The menu features seven – repeat, seven – different types of grilled cheese creations to choose from, like the Jalapino Popper and Green Goddess filled with aged cheddar, Swiss, goat cheese, pesto and spinach on multigrain sourdough.

Zee’s also keeps the most important meal of the day in mind too.

The all-day breakfast selection has your usual suspects like a grilled cheese omlette but also surprise healthy options like organic vegan granola cereal.

Wash it all down with good-for-you smoothie; the La Isla Bonita keeps it simple with kale, banana and coconut water while the Blue Magic is an almond delight made from blueberries, almond butter and milk.

If you’re looking for the ultimate companion to your grilled cheese sandwich, don’t worry, because they didn’t forget about tomato soup. Zee’s roasted tomato version comes with grilled cheese croutons too.

So if you’re after comfort food cravings, cold day fillings, or just a great brunch spot, Zee’s should now be a regular on our rotation for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
