Fright Nights at the PNE (now until October 31st)
One of Vancouver’s scariest and largest annual Halloween attractions is back at the PNE (2901 East Hastings Street) with haunted houses, live shows, themed rides and the new phobia-induced FEAR house that will have you screaming all the way home.  Attempt to make your way through all six haunted houses, take in the ghoulish comedy show, and test out more than a dozen rides before facing your FEARS. Happening Now: Taste of Yaletown (until October 27th)
Dine out at some of the Vancouver’s top restaurants as part of this annual community-based event. Enjoy an array of culinary offerings and delicious wines all within the Yaletown neighbourhood. Participating restaurants are offering special three-course, pre-fixe menus (from $25 to $45) and reservations fill up quickly. Just Opened: TOPSHOP TOPMAN (674 Granville Street)
Vancouver’s style-seekers can breathe easy when in search of their next fashion fix starting this weekend. Opening to the public, and in partnership with The Bay, this iconic British fashion store is set to welcome shoppers to its new 33,000 square foot space. Vancouver’s TOPSHOP TOPMAN location will feature the complete collection of TOPSHOP and TOPMAN collections as well as additional premium and exclusive designer collections. Info here.

El Matador Spanish Tapas & Drinks (131 West Esplanade)
Tucked just below the Starbucks off Lower Lonsdale and an easy Seabus ride from downtown Vancouver, discerning diners can find a true taste of Spanish cuisine and Andalusian tapas-style treats. Menu items are simple and flavourful (and easy on the wallet) with most items priced at $5. This is complimented by plenty of sangria, wine and beer on tap. Open from 4pm until late. Parade of Lost Souls: Spirit Creatures (Public Dreams Studio, 2050 Scotia Street)
Get into the spirit of Halloween by participating in one of various themed activities leading up to the annual parade. This weekend try your hand at one of several spook-inducing workshops happening at the Public Dreams Studio. Admission is by donation and participants are invited to create their own four-legged character complete with headpiece and costume effects for the parade. For more info visit them online.

Recently Opened: IK2GO Hornby (1328 Hornby Street)
If you’re already a big fan of Italian Kitchen’s grab and go ‘ik2go’ cuisine, you’ll like this news. The second (and largest) ik2go location recently opened along the Yaletown/West End transitional corridor offering a larger menu loaded with tasty Italian fare. Hungry diners have the added option at this new location: take-out or sit-down to enjoy your eats.
