Mark your calendar for the 16th Annual Hopscotch Festival – one of the largest combined Beer and Whiskey festivals in Canada. This year will be bigger and better than ever with the main Grand Tasting Hall event set to kick things off (with well over 4000 in attendance). Sample spirits and specialty liqueurs while you nosh on gourmet foods during this week-long festival. Comedy for a Cause: Edgewater Casino, 750 Pacific Boulevard
Get together with a group of friends for a guaranteed great night out in support of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. 100% of the proceeds from this comedic night will go toward LLSOC and feature the musings of none other than funnyman Dat Phan (winner of season one of NBC’s ‘Last Comic Standing’. Tickets are $20.

Vancouver Jewish Film Festival 2012 (The Ridge Theatre, 3131 Arbutus)
As one of the longest running Jewish film festivals in Canada, the 24th Annual VJFF is worth checking out (on until November 15th). With 30 different documentaries, dramas, comedies and shorts set to be screened, it appeals to all cinematic interests.
