Phantom Wing
King Edward School is one of the oldest schools in the city. The empty wing of the building is set for demolition in the near future, but before that happens the space will be used to host a big art show of 30+ artists with larger scale works/installations on display along with some live entertainment. From September 24th to the 29th, everyone is invited out to see how the once-empty wing of the school was re-purposed into the multidisciplinary art space called ‘CSpace’. King Edward is located at 1720 30th Avenue SW. The event is free.

Charity Rodeo
On September 21st and 22nd, the Hell or High Water charity rodeo will be taking place at the Millarville Race track. The charity proceeds will be going towards flood relief efforts for Southern Alberta residents who were affected this summer. The event will feature both professional and local rodeo talent, including: Denny Phipps, Logan Bird and Slim Weegar. There will be barrel racing, steer wrestling, bull riding and activities for the kids on Sunday. Event is from 1 to 5pm. Tickets are $15. Mandala at Fort Calgary
Tibetan monk Tenzin Tsundu-la is set to create a Green Tara Mandala for those in Calgary who were impacted by the Flood of 2013. The mandala will be created during the week of September 20 to 27. A ceremony at the Bow River is set for September 27 at 3pm. It is said that creating mandalas helps stabilize, integrate, and re-order inner life, and that Green Tara sits with one foot in the meditation posture and one foot in the world, which reflects modern day contemplative life.
