Must Try: Feel Good Guru

Hyper-local, super-awesome, organic, plant-powered food. Now that’s a mouthful. It’s also the motto behind Feel Good Guru, a newer shop on Queen West that’s putting its moniker where its money is: the food.

Vegans rejoice. Feel Good Guru is a totally-vegan spot that serves up some interesting concoctions. Look at their “Liquid Pharmacy” with offerings like the RedJoice – beet, apple, ginger, and lemon. Their “Seduction by Salad” aks you to Make Kale Not War, and to head Into the Mystic. “Noodle Nirvana” includes the Tokyo Toss – with buckwheat noodles, of course – and a twist on Pad Thai, the Bangkok Doc. (Yes, desserts are also floating around to make you “feel good.”)

Feel Good Guru is great for take-out, and also boasts a retail component, a resident holistic nutritionist (granted Andrea Sarjeant’s still “in-training”), and food and ingredients that are, as they say, hyper-local and rife with antioxidants and ‘healing’ properties. If you’re a health nut, head here. If you’re looking for a burger and fries, run in the opposite direction.
