Montreal: Enlist That Moustache Today and Make a Change

November 1st marked the official start of everyone’s favourite excuse to grow a moustache of epic proportions. If you’ve been living under the mo’ rock, here’s a little 101: Movember aims to forever change the face of men’s health through the power of the moustache, by raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health initiatives. In other words: grow a mo, rock it for a month, and ask your buddies to sponsor your growing initiative for a great cause.

So how can you participate? Both men and women can now register at Movember.com and get things going. Last year in Quebec, more than 37,000 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas helped raise $3.7 million. Pretty damn impressive if you ask us!

What’s new this year? Movember has added some new moustache fun to help you participate, including the following:

MOVE: The Move events can be anything active from running a 5k to an hour-long walk, a yoga class, skating and everything in between. MOVE can also be a month-long pledge to expend more energy by getting off a bus stop early, taking the stairs to your office, or walking to work. As long as your mo is on the move, you are on the right path.

Movember Rated Barbers: For the past 10 years, barbers from around the globe have shared their passion for fine moustachery and men’s health. To acknowledge their expertise and constant support, Movember has created Movember Rated Barbers, a global network of the best grooming destinations for Mo Bros. Chris Hadfield Big Mo On Campus (BMOC): For those of you still in school updating your degrees, Chris Hadfield is challenging students from around the world to register at Movember.com and join the Big Moustache On Campus (BMOC) network! The goal is to rally your troops, student mos, because Chris will be personally visiting the top fundraising school in Canada at the end of the campaign to spend time with the winning team and give an inspirational talk to the entire school.

Events: As always, Movember means mo’ party! The city will be full of mo-raising events that scream nothing but a good time and goodwill. The calendar is filling up fast; to find out what’s happening around Montreal and Canada, click here

So get out there and take part in this global initiative in which three million participants have raised over $446 million for the cause during official Movember campaigns taking place in 21 countries. Mo out!
