Housing Prices in Silicon Valley Are So Insane That Renting a Tent in a Backyard is $1100/Month

Sleeping on a hammock or a blow-up mattress for $1100/month is insane.

What’s even more insane, is that this space doesn’t come with anything.

Because it’s a tent. In someone’s backyard.

That’s right, someone in the Bay Area is renting their Mountain View, Ca tent on Airbnb for just under over a grand a month ($38 CDN per night).

From the ad: “The tent is a Coleman Sundome 4-person tent, so it is comfortably spacious for one or two people. I will set up a queen sized airbed and blankets/pillows/comforter inside the tent. If you prefer to sleep in your own sleeping bag on a sleeping pad/yoga mat on the floor, or in my hammock under the tree in my backyard, that is fine. Just let me know before your arrival what sleeping arrangements you would prefer.”

It’s also close to Google, and your rent covers a daily shower and breakfast.

Talk about living the Silicon Valley dream.
