Get Furry at Paws 4 A Cause Animal House

Do you hear that sound? It’s the echoing of animal lovers, young professionals and partygoers having the night of their lives while raising money for SPCA’s mission of combating animal cruelty. Fun and charity: the two words we love hearing together the most.

This year’s edition of Paws 4 A Cause on Friday, May 2 will be taking place at the urban-chic Espace Canal (4020 St-Ambroise) where, for $80, guests will be able to enjoy their favourite drinks while knowing that they have contributed to helping out our furry friends in need.

With endless drinks being poured, beats spun by DJ Yo?C, and face and body painting, this year’s theme, “Animal House,” will bring out the notable animal in you.

Each year, the Paws 4 A Cause volunteers decide upon which facet of the Montreal’s SPCA the money raised will be allocated to. This year’s goal is to raise $50,000. The money raised will go directly to the understaffed and overworked Cruelty Investigations Department (CID) at the Montreal SPCA. The CID is on the front lines of combating animal abuse on the island of Montreal, Laval, the South Shore and the Laurentians. It aims to prevent animal cruelty by actively removing animals from situations where they are being abused, neglected, or exploited.

In Mohandas Gandhi’s words, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
