Calgary is in the midst of Stampede and it certainly makes for some interesting people watching; you just never know what kind of crazy cowboy outfits people will be wearing around town. This is the time of year to push your fashion limits, so pull out those boots, dust of that hat and make a statement.
On July 3rd, we kicked off Stampede in style. Harry Rosen hosted their annual Pre-Stampede party in the downtown core, an event complete with complimentary cowboy hats, cowboy couture, country stars and plenty of bourbon.
Courtney Beckett, Harry Rosen’s PR and Events Specialist, took a few minutes to answer questions about the store and Stampede fashion:
In your own words, what does the Harry Rosen brand represent?
Harry Rosen offers something for every man, for every occasion in his life.
Can you sum up the ‘Harry Rosen’ man in a few short words?
Urbane, confident, witty; someone with great taste
What are the must-have items this year?
The overwhelming trend this season has been colour. Going into summer, every man should have a colorful pair of denim or chinos, socks and a pair of bright loafers.
What fashion advice is the Harry Rosen team giving for Stampede?
There are many ways to integrate Stampede into your wardrobe. Whether by adding a bandana-inspired pocket square to your suit, or putting together an urban cowboy look, don’t forget the basics. A great pair of jeans (Citizens of Humanity, AG) and a checked shirt (Burberry, Michael Kors, Robert Graham), along with a sport jacket, will take you from the office to the rodeo.
Can you give me a little background on the Pre-Stampede party?
This was our third annual Stampede Saloon. We wanted to create an opportunity for our clients to kick off the start of the Stampede in style, as well as remind them that Harry Rosen is Calgary’s top destination for their Stampede attire.
Did any special guests attend?
There were several, including rising country star Livy Jeanne, CEO & Chairman Larry Rosen, Brian Hanson, president of Smithbilt, The Style Guys, Alykhan Vejli and Jason Krell, Jill Belland of Breakfast Television, and Tara Anand of Artists Within, among others.
Harry Rosen is synonymous with stylish men and suits that will last a lifetime. The Rosen family got their start making high quality men’s wear in Toronto back in 1954 and became successful in part to the ad campaign “Ask Harry.” Today, the sterling shop remains dedicated to selling high quality fashion and tailoring brands like Tom Ford, John Varvatos and Armani in shops throughout Canada and in downtown Calgary. Whether you are looking for ready-to-wear or make to measure, Harry Rosen is the place to shop.
Be sure to check back soon for an interview with Livy Jeanne who performed at the Stampede party. This young star will be making the Country Top 100 in no time.
