It may have been cold and blustery on the streets of Montreal, but spring was in the air inside the Pony Ride headquarters. A troupe of Montreal fashion media convened over champagne and canapés for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at some of spring’s most notable clothing and accessories. Hosted by Rev Media, the fab fashion preview was jam-packed with trend-talking, mingling, and selfie-snapping, while beats by DJ Jovie J blasted away all thoughts of snow and ice.
In one word, Spring ’14 is vibrant. A slew of brands filled the room with a colourful collage of eye-catching hues and prints. Among the standouts were too-cute corals and tangerines and a hefty smattering of cool blues, as well as a hard-to-miss rainbow collection of Pink Stitch maxis. (I’ll take one in every colour, please!).
For those who can’t commit to bold and brights just yet, Pony Ride’s range of brands offer a little something to satisfy every style palette, from cool and contemporary Charli, to ultra-feminine, vintage-inspired Darling, to modern minimalist Designers Remix. New brands of note include kick-it-and-cuddle-up tees and sweats by Peace Love World, and an array of perfect plaids by (Kardashian fave) LA-based Rails.
Eco-friendly was a major buzzword of the evening with several brands doing their part for the planet, including the Designers Remix collection, which uses certified organic cotton and animal-friendly materials, as well as 70s-inspired Swedish Hasbeens championing ecologically-prepared leather and bio-degradable soles.
With all the fashion fun, eats and treats, Pony Ride’s Spring ’14 Preview was a warm and wonderful break from winter with plenty to look forward to for spring!
