Last week, we were thrilled to co-host our first every Notable networking event with the fantastic Apothic Wine team at Yaletown’s uber-cool Chinois Restaurant.
Though the weather was notably ‘raincouver’ style (umbrellas were definitely the accessory du jour), that didn’t stop our well-dressed Notable readers from joining us to celebrate. We were thrilled that more than 100 young professionals braved the downpour in favour of attending the final leg of our Canada-wide Notable Apothic Wine Tour and inaugural YVR event.
Guests were immediately treated to a taste of Apothic’s signature white or red blend upon arrival…with the amazing bar staff at Chinois ensuring no glass was ever left empty. We heard plenty of positive buzz about the wines from young professional event-goers, impressed by the fusion of flavours and easy-drinking nature of Apothic‘s Californian-based blends (not to mention an easy-on-the-wallet price tag).
For those wine-aficionados well versed in tasting events, it was easy to note the different varietals of each wine featured; and for those YP’s new at the game, the Apothic team was ready to help. Attendees were invited to check out their sensory station set up on site where elements of each wine were displayed. Tasting tips were provided (as well as a handy take-home cheat sheet).
Chinois served as the perfect party locale – it’s sleek and sexy layout, dimmed lighting and simplistic-yet-exotic decor added to the mood. Not to mention, the delectable bites streaming from the kitchen were eagerly snapped-up by event guests. Our favourites: the Red Pork Potstickers, Prawn Wontons and Spring Rolls hit the spot.
We paused the festivities long enough for Notable.ca Founder Julian Brass to be officially introduced in order to welcome guests and share news of some exciting things happening for Notable across Canada. Then it was time to let the music up the ante for the remainder of an evening fuelled by some serious networking and friendly introductions.
This event has indeed set the stage for Notable’s official arrival on the West Coast – and we’re excited to keep the buzz alive with more events to come.
