Event Recap: Cirque du Soleil’s One Drop Fundraiser

Last Friday saw the official kick-off to Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna. Helping to make it official and to collectively help raise awareness and funds for One Drop organization’s exclusive VIP event, Cirque pulled out all the stops for the evening’s attendees.

Our Notable crew managed to sneak in to the Tapis Rouge lounge for an exclusive peek at what awaited and discovered a stunning array of exquisite offerings guaranteed to make the $1000 ticket worthwhile (all funds benefitting One Drop).

After being greeted upon entry and after a welcome speech courtesy of Guy Laliberté (founder of both One Drop and Cirque du Soleil), we were invited to tour the glitzed-up space, and tour we did.

Various notable restaurants were dispersed throughout the massive tented area, with even more tucked away at an adjacent Air Canada lounge area.

We ran into a few usual suspects (you might recognize a face or two from CTV), and enjoyed conversing with Notable YPs who’ve continued to build their businesses (Kale & Nori’s Lauren Mote was on hand to mix us up a specialty cocktail).

After chatting with Black & Blue’s Executive Chef (and being tempted by mini Yorkshire puddings and seared sirloin, which was delicious!) we ventured back out to the main tent to meet up with One Drop’s board members who were on-hand for a bit of Q&A.

Aside from being inspired by the many passionate young professionals involved in the organization, we learned that the night’s fundraising goal was set at a seemingly cool $1 million. Given the overall calibre of VIP guests expected, we’re pretty certain they more than hit that mark.
