Last night we managed to escape the office a tad early and made our way over to the Rosewood Hotel Georgia to partake in a little holiday-themed pre-party at Bel Cafe and the adjacent Hawksworth Restaurant.
With the gifting season all but upon us, and event invites streaming into inboxes at this time of year, we know that soon enough busy young professionals will find themselves in a relative state of panic where gift giving is concerned. Fear not. When it comes time to purchasing the perfect present for friends, family and colleagues, the Bel Cafe’s newly expanded list of offerings is perfectly poised as a tasteful solution.
This petite soiree had us mingling with like-minded editors, contributors and bloggers from noteworthy YVR publications with our animated discussion focused on Christmas plans and the task at hand: sleuthing out the season’s go-to gift items for respective readers. Our hosts at the Bel Cafe helped fuel the chatter with a constant offering of delectable bites and sips from their Christmas-themed menu (think hazelnut spiced cookies, Egg Nog lattes and a decadent chocolate mousse and toffee log that were beyond amazing).
In addition to snacking and chatting, we were introduced to a new line of retail items available for purchase at Bel Cafe – perfect for the foodies on your holiday list (or as a tasteful secret Santa solution). Whether it’s a quick fix, fully loaded gift baskets you need in a pinch, or something more customized, there’s something to suit all tastes and occasions. Worth noting: we love the emphasis they’ve placed on sourcing locally produced items like Mellifera Bees honey and baked treats from Bel Cafe’s own kitchen.
Following our retail tour at Bel Cafe, we headed across the foyer and ducked into the hotel’s swanky, decked-out lounge that is home to the award-winning Hawksworth Restaurant. We were welcomed with seasonal cocktails (order the Clockwork when you go) and tasty bar bites such as the KFC (Korean Fried Cauliflower) and spicy yellow fin tuna served atop crispy sushi rice (a hit).
All said, both the Bel Cafe and Hawksworth Restaurant are a conveniently located dynamic duo worth noting this holiday season.
