Event Recap: A Taste of the CPO

The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra’s (CPO) Season Opener A Taste of the CPO kicked off the 2012/2013 season for Club Wolfgang, the CPO’s young professionals club.

Guests arrived early to the Jack Singer Concert Hall to join a cast of characters in the lobby for a sneak peek at upcoming concerts, events and special programs, and to personally meet some of the musicians.

The show was a hit, with the orchestra playing all sorts of music from classical to pop tunes such as Viva la Vida by Coldplay. They even played the theme song from Starwars in homage for their Sci-Fi Spectacular, which will be taking the stage February 20, 2013.

During intermission, Club Wolfgang members mingled in the VIP Members room with other Club Wolfgang members, those of the Amadeus Patron Circle and several stormtroopers.

After the show, Club Wolgang members enjoyed a VIP evening at the exclusive after party held at Mango Shiva. Guests enjoyed complimentary drinks and tapas as they mingled with one another and the CPO musicians. The CPO’s conductor, Melanie Leonard, even made an appearance. During the after party, guests were also wowed by a performance by some of the city’s best ballroom dancers.
