Cocktails, Culture, and Connections: After Hours at the McCord is Back (And We’re Giving Away Tickets)

Culture and cocktails; is there a better combination when it comes to personal and professional networking with fellow young professionals?

We don’t think so.

That’s why we’ll hit the McCord Museum on Thursday, October 15 (5pm-9pm) for “After Hours At the McCord,” presented by National Bank.

It’s a chance to rediscover the Museum (you’ve been saying you should go for a long time now) and its exhibitions from a new angle with new people, friends, and colleagues. If you’ve been to the annual Sugar Ball, then you already know how memorable – and Instagram-worthy – a night at the Museum can be.

The theme of the evening is graphic art, design, and street art in conjunction with the exhibition Montreal Through the Eyes of Vittorio. So you can expect an evening of live performances, creative workshops, prizes and gifts, and a drink with the cost of admission.

But we suspect you’ll want to stay around for more than just one when the conversation gets flowing. And there will clearly be no shortage of talking points – you’ll be in a Museum, after all, literally surrounded by culture.

This means a live participatory performance by mural artist TAVA, who will use Vittorio’s colours, and continuous workshop demonstrations throughout the evening will include a fresco, where guests are invited to leave their mark on a collage inspired by Vittorio and created by the Montreal street artist whatisadam. Ensuring guests don’t leave empty-handed, a workshop by Unik Printshop allows guests to learn screen-printing and leave with their own poster.

You can purchase advance tickets for $16 at LAVITRINE.COM, grab one at the door for $20, or sign up below to win one of six free tickets we’re giving away (three pairs).

This is the fall event you’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait to see you there.

* Winners will be selected and notified via e-mail on Tuesday October 13th, 2015.
