Elevator Pitch: Describe your job in a nutshell.
I sell real estate (and myself) everyday. I create relationships in which my clients trust me to assist them in the biggest purchase and often, investment, of their lives. Through diligence and integrity, I ensure it is the right choice for their needs.

Why did you start working at your company? What was the inspiration for this career route?
I started working at Sage Real Estate Ltd., a boutique, family run brokerage because they believe in the same business practices as I do. They believe in the importance of real estate helping a city, as well as a portfolio, grow. Sage focuses on social media and the Internet to reach out to clients and customers, which I feel is the greenest and most expansive form of marketing today. My inspiration for getting into real estate was that I enjoyed helping people. In addition, everyday is different because I work with different clients, and each day has its new challenges.

What is the best part of what you do on a day-to-day basis? The most challenging part?
The best part of what I do is creating new relationships. Buying and selling your home can be a very emotional experience, and in my career, I get to be the person guiding and supporting clients through this big decision in their lives. It’s a position with a lot of accountability, and making the process smooth as well as transparent is crucial, and a challenge I enjoy rising to. The most challenging part of what I do is finding the right balance between real estate and social life. Success in business is separate from success in life and the key is finding the balance between the two.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Business-wise, in five years, I see myself selling real estate at Sage, but with The Cain Brothers brand highly evolved. In my personal life, I would like to be well on my way to starting a charity in which 100% of donations go to fighting prostate cancer in Canada. I lost my father this year to a long battle with prostate cancer, and am committed to ensuring that we find a cure for this disease.

What does success look like to you?
Success, to me, is accomplishing the goals you have set for yourself in life and business and continuing to expand those goals. Most of all, I would say that success is being happy in your own life.

What is the most memorable milestone in your career?
The most memorable milestone in my career happened last year, having my brother, Andrew, join me in real estate to create the Cain Brothers brand through Sage Real Estate.

Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
In life, and in business, you will fail more than you succeed (so enjoy the successes and learn from the attempts.)

Do you support any charities? If so, which one(s) and why is that important to you?
I support Prostate Cancer Canada. As I mentioned, I lost my father this year to prostate cancer and my family and I have been throwing fundraisers for the past 4 years to raise funds for the cause. To date, we have raised over 20K through auctions, parties and canvassing. I also volunteer at Camp Oochigeas, a camp for children with cancer. It is one of the more rewarding things I get to do and where I have formed some of my closest relationships.

What to you is notable?
Notable, to me, is someone who exemplifies a good balance between work and social life and gives back to their community and those around them.
