On a day when the NYPD declared “if you’re a civilian out driving, you are subject to arrest,” YouTube star Casey Neistat took things up a notch and drove anyway. Kind of.
Technically, someone else drove – while Neistat towed behind the Jeep on a snowboard. Since being uploaded yesterday, the video has already racked up over five million views. This is partly because Neistat’s a popular guy, but also because it’s pretty damn amazing:
The video was shot during the record-breaking blizzard that ravaged the U.S. East Coast over the weekend and shows Neistat touring sites like Times Square and Central Park.
It even features an encounter with the police. Rather than arrest the freewheeling urban snowboarder, however, the officer was pretty rad about the whole situation: “Someone complained about you, so we’re just going to act like we’re talking to you.”
