Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: March 11, 2014

Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do on the second Tuesday in March.*

Augustines
Where: The Garrison
When: 8pm

If you’re into indie we suspect you’ve heard of Augustines. The Brooklyn trio has just released its second album and will be kicking off their Walkabout Tour in Toronto tonight. But let’s not talk when music will do the trick. If you’re into this then you’re probably going to want to pick up a rush ticket or storm the gates or do whatever it is the kids are doing these days when they want to see a concert.

American Idiot
Where: Royal Alexandra Theatre
When: 8:00pm

From Basket Case to Broadway, Green Day (somehow) manages to prove they’re still relevant 20 years later. Based on their award-winning, multi-platinum album American Idiot, the eponymously named musical hits Toronto for the next five days only. Both a critical smash in London and New York, it tells the story of “three lifelong friends, forced to choose between their dreams and the safety of suburbia.” So, pretty much everyone in the 905.

Tell Me Something Good
Where: The Gladstone
When: 8pm

So this might actually be the hottest thing you can do tonight. Inspired by Bawdy Storytelling in California, Tell Me Something Good brings sexy storytelling to the stage in our fair city. The deal is, you share short stories of sexual glory, gaffes, and growth for the chance to win prizes. You only get five minutes to speak, though, so this is just a quickie. Go tell everyone your business or happily be a fly on the wall – either way, this should be a riot.

*Of course, no one would blame you for staying in to watch this and smrown all night long (you smile cause he’s made it okay to hate him, you frown when you remember he’s Canadian).
