The Met Gala is one of fashion’s most notable nights of the year. The red carpet event, hosted by Vogue magazine, was filled with celebrities expected to dress in this year’s “Charles James” theme, and much like at this year’s Oscars, duos seemed to steal the spotlight. We’ve rounded up five couture couples who deserve our attention.
1. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds
Blake looked sensational in a practically painted on, plunging neckline Gucci dress and husband Ryan wore a one button, midnight blue, velvet Signoria tuxedo.
2. Beyonce and Jay Z
Beyonce donned a crystal, stone and studded Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci custom gown, while husband Jay looked sharp in a Givenchy Haute Couture tux.
3. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Kim impressed us in a simple Lanvin black-and-blue silk, floor-length gown, while fiance Kanye looked dapper in a black and white coat-tail tuxedo.
4. Charlize Theron and Sean Penn
Charlize dripped in sophistication wearing a Dior Haute Couture white crepe gown with boyfriend Sean on her arm sporting a traditional black tux and white shirt.
5. Amber Heard and Johnny Depp
Amber made an entrance in a Giambattista Valli Haute Couture four silk gown with all-over embroidery alongside fiancee Johnny who enthusiastically embraced this year’s theme in a formal black coat-tailed tux, a cane, white gloves and a pocket watch.
