Walking into Milk Tiger Lounge feels like you’re being transported straight to San Francisco. It’s hard not to love the laid-back lounge vibe here.
This is a place where you can get a cocktail made the way that it was originally intended. You won’t find any watered down liquor halfheartedly poured into a glass and mixed with some barely fizzy soda. The list of cocktails is so impressive that you might not have heard of some of them except in episodes of MadMen. The French 75 comes highly recommended, and is made with champagne, gin and fresh lemon. Not a gin fan? Check out the Dark and Stormy, which is made of dark rum, ginger beer and fresh lime. Even the beer list is carefully selected with offerings from exotic places like Singapore, Mexico, and Ontario. The prices for some of the drinks may seem to be a little bit steep, but keep in mind that the cocktails and martinis are doubles, and everything on the drink menu is almost guaranteed to satisfy whatever thirst you might have.
If you wind up at the Milk Tiger Lounge hungry, you can be assured that there is a delightful menu available to accompany their delicious drinks. What makes Milk Tiger Lounge stand out among other Calgary hot spots is that its entire menu is gluten free. Other than the fact that people with wheat allergies can feel free to order anything they want, the best thing about Milk Tiger’s menu is that it doesn’t taste like it’s gluten free. The menu even includes familiar items such as a Belgian Waffle with your choice of toppings, and a Pulled Pork Sandwich. The strangest thing on the menu is potentially the Bone Marrow Tacquitos, though the description (corn tortilla wrapped beef marrow friend in a spicy tomato sauce) shows that even things with overly-interesting names can still be delicious.
