Canteen Has Your Pre-Game Covered This Baseball Season

Finally – the boys in blue are back in full force.

If you haven’t busted out your Jays gear already and hit up a game, odds are you will soon (and if not, we can’t be friends).

The entire Jays experience goes well beyond the actual game, of course. Aside from the gear (and the subsequent Instagram photo-ops), Jays games call for a proper pre-game regiment.

And what’s better that showing up at the Rogers Centre with a bit of a buzz and some food in your belly?

That’s why we’ve been hitting Oliver & Bonacini’s Canteen restaurant to get our pre-game groove on when the Jays are in town. Located in the TIFF Lightbox building at 330 King St. West, not only is the restaurant a short walk away from the Rogers Centre, it knows how to pre-game properly.

Canteen offers a more refined experience than the typical rowdy Toronto pub, as well as some prime people watching on the side.

The beloved restaurant will offer deals for home games on both baseball-appropriate food and beer all season long.

To celebrate the Toronto Blue Jays 2016 season and commemorate Bautista’s iconic bat flip of 2015, Canteen dishes up The Brat Flip, a Seed-to-Sausage bratwurst decked out with Mill St. Organic-braised onions, Kozlik’s sweet and smoky mustard, and spicy garlic pickles.

Let’s see your typical ballgame hot dog compete with that.

The Brat Flip can be enjoyed on its own ($8) or with fries ($12) on every home game day.

Aside from the wallet-friendly price point, it’s going to be bat toss-worthy good when O&B is behind the gourmet grub.

Because “game day” wouldn’t be complete without beer, you can pair your brat with a $5 pint of Mill St. Organic before you take off for the game. Tell us where else you can find that downtown.

Of course, if beer and bratwurst aren’t for you, you have the entire menu of O&B gourmet goodness to choose from as well – and you’re going to need all the energy you can get for screaming your lungs out as you cheer the Jays all the way to the World Series.
