There’s an App For…Golf?

Mulligan. Birdie. Fairway. Bogie. Ah golf, one of our favourite summer pastimes. Continuing in the “There’s an app for that,” vein comes Cadee, a newly-released – it launched on the 26th in beta form – web-based application (soon to be launched for mobile devices) that keeps track of golf scores, charts out your progress, and also has a buff directory of different courses. How’s that for a notable helper when you’re heading down to the links?

Cadee (pronounced like caddy) tracks and manages your scores, and creates helpful graphs and charts so you can easily understand statistics such as your handicap, how often you make par, and how many putts you average. And, by using Facebook Connect, Cadee will show how you and your golf buddies stack up. You can see how you compare to golfers in your area, or to Cadee users Ontario-wide. Because there’s nothing like a little bit of friendly – cough – competition to keep a game interesting, right?

The Cadee app also houses a wealth of information about over 500 courses in Ontario, making it easy for users to discover their next stop on a fairway. You can find out whether a golf course is public or private, the price range, and specific details about individual courses. Each course listing also includes a link to information about the course restaurant and banquet facilities. Cadee users are invited to post their reviews of courses – very Chowhound-esque – so you can benefit from the experiences of peers.

While currently only available in beta web form, the Cadee mobile app will soon be ready to take with you to the golf course. Now all you need is an app to carry your clubs…
