You’re going to hear the term ‘fast-casual’ a lot more in the next little while.
Already a major hit in the United States – opening 50 restaurants last year alone – Blaze Pizza takes the concept of fast food customization a la Chipotle and Five Guys Burgers and Fries and applies to the world of pie.
“We wanted to build something with a modern twist that would resonate with millennials,” said Blaze President and COO Jim Mizes.
And if the way to their hearts isn’t seven cheeses, eight proteins, 20 vegetables, and three sauces ordered at a counter – all ready in about three minutes from a wood stone oven – we don’t know what is.
Up to 60 Blaze Pizza restaurants are expected to open in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan in the near future, marking the franchise’s first international expansion.
And if that’s not enough hype, even LeBron James is taking his talents to Blaze.
