On Top of The World: Tour a Vancouver Penthouse With 360-Degree Views

I was warmly greeted at the entrance of Maddox by Cressey by Jason Turcotte, VP of Development at Cressey Development Group, one of the most respected builders in Vancouver. As we rode the elevator to the penthouse on the 35th floor, and Jason swiftly scan his thumb on the James Bond-ish biometric scanner, I felt really privileged to have scored such a ‘high-level story’.

“We originally planned to design 3 separate units on those top two floors but we quickly scrapped this idea and went all in, combining both floors to create a 3,500 sq. ft. penthouse with a 2,000 sq. ft. walk-out private terrace,” explains Jason while lifting the sun shades to reveal a breathtaking view over the English Bay. The day was crisp and clear and I could gaze at Granville Island in the distance.

My usual attempt at keeping a straight poker face while reporting wasn’t holding and I quickly started taking a million pictures. After all, film is cheap and time was obviously precious.

“This unit managed to capture the interest of local buyers as soon as it hit the market. While Vancouver is a strong investor market we strongly believe in building quality homes for people to actually live in,” said Jason, rolling out the sliding glass doors to expose the Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances in the discreet kitchen.

Walking out onto the terrace, the world is yours.

A 360-degree panorama of English Bay, the city skyline, Granville Bridge, and North Shore mountains surround the open terrace, which is complete with an outdoor kitchen and bar. Partial wind blocking glass panels and roof protects from the elements and provides a safe and calm bubble in the sky.

Notice how this place breathes because the surrounding buildings are rising in the distance. Jason’s colleague Emma agreed to model for our camera, giving a more comprehensive perspective of the outdoor space and view.
