Just Opened: UNIUN
Nightlife heavyweight Charles Khabouth and his company bring us yet another reason to go out dancing on the weekends. Uniun Nightclub recently opened up in the spot left in the wake of Devil’s Martini’s closure (at 473 Adelaide Street West). Be sure to check Uniun out on Facebook to find out how to get door bypass tickets, see who’s on the docket, and so much more.

Just Opened: Santouka
Well… in case you were wondering. It is true. The city has officially been taken over by ramen fever. Case in point: The opening of Santouka Hokkaido Ramen at 91 Dundas Street East. At a corner of town known for little more than nighttime shadiness, Santouka hopes to brighten up the area with bowls of broth, noodles, and other Japanese delights.

Re-Opened: College Street Bar
It’s funny what a coat of paint, a menu crafted by a well-known exec chef, and two set price points – $5 for the food, $9 for the cocktails – will do for a joint. The recently revamped College Street Bar (574 College Street) was given a bit of facelift before Chef David Adjey was called in to design the recipes for the sharable menu. The cocktails are prepared by Gavin MacMillan.

Just Opened: Two Bite Saloon
Two bites is all you’ll need to finish most of the dishes on the menu at this small saloon-style restaurant. Two Bite Saloon – found at 840 Bloor Street West – is serving up mini takes on favourite Southern BBQ style meals like ribs, wild catfish, poutine, pulled pork and more. Many of which come in two-bite, slider form.

Just Opened: Slider Revolution
Over on the Danforth, we have another new entry to the small bite restaurant scene. (Very coincidental the timing, non?) Slider Revolution just opened its doors at 673 Danforth Avenue, offering a more casual, grab-and-go style slider diner. From meatballs to pulled pork and even sloppy joe’s, Slider Revolution’s got ’em all.

Just Opened: Mr. Pong’s Bar
A collaboration of some notable hospitality names in the city – namely, the folk behind Cold Tea in Kensington – Mr. Pong’s Bar is a new watering hole/gourmet egg roll joint (yes, you read that right) in Little Portugal at 1576 Dundas Street West. Featuring a surprisingly simple drinks menu, Mr. Pong’s Bar is more of a neighbourhood local… but the vibe is fine and so are the times.
