Bristol Yard
British cuisine is taking over the city. The latest in this English-craze is Bristol Yard, a darling little spot near Christie Pits (146 Christie Avenue). Serving up some of the best meat pies you’ll ever devour, Scotch eggs so sinfully indulgent, and a retro/cottage vibe that has to be seen, The Bristol Yard is a definite must-try.

Kitch Bar
This 2,800 sq. ft. establishment that just opened up at 229 Geary Avenue is a resto/club to be reckoned with. Focusing heavy on music as part and parcel of the experience, Kitch’s menu is kind of a Latin comfort food fusion. Tacos, mac n’ cheese with a kick and the like are amped up staples here, and the long bar is the perfect attraction for imbibing locals.

Banana Mafia
The Banana Mafia is a collective of five top T.O. chefs – Nick Liu, Robbie Hojilla, Leemo Han, Jeff Claudio, and Jonathan Poon – who are coming together on Monday, May 14th for an Asian Street Food extravaganza at the Amsterdam Brewery (21 Bathurst Street). Enjoy dishes created by these gourmet chefs (and some beer to pair) and check out each’s interpretation of amazing Asian street food.

Chuck Hughes at The Drake
Chuck Hughes ‘Garde Manger’ cookbook recently came out in hardcover, and the Celebrity Chef has taken to the roads, hitting up major cities to promo the feat. On Monday, May 14th at The Drake Hotel, Chuck will be signing copies of his culinary tome and judging and all out cookie competition. Meet the chef, enjoy some bites, grab a cocktail, and get your copy signed.

West Side Story
For over 50 years, West Side Story has been astonishing audiences with its spectacular music, amazing narrative, and outlandish dancing. This week it came back to Toronto, and will play for a limited time (until June 3rd) at the Toronto Centre for the Arts (5040 Yonge Street). Get your tickets now to witness what many will argue is the greatest love story ever told in all its live glory.

Hoof Raw Bar
Those who subscribe to the temple of The Black Hoof ought to note this: The team behind the head-to-toe animal eatery opened up a neighbouring raw bar this week, serving up exemplary takes on any seafood or fish you can imagine. Hoof Raw Bar (926 Dundas Street West) will undoubtedly rile up the foodies and impress the West End crowd. Just be prepared to wait for a seat…
