New Terroni Location
If you’ve never gone to Terroni, you can’t really call yourself a Torontonian. Simple as that. This rustic yet contemporary chain of Italian restaurants (three locations now of the namesake, six in total under the Terroni umbrella) just opened the new location at 1095 Yonge Street on Tuesday, and is bringing the same charm and succulence to midtown.

Kirei Sushi + Bar

The last thing the city needs is another sushi spot, right? That’s debatable, if you ask me. Kirei Sushi + Bar opened just last week at the corner of Church and Lombard Streets, and has a definite Japanese fusion vibe worth checking out, with some excellent rolls and a fully-stocked cocktail list to accompany.

Radar: CHEESEWERKS
The time has finally come. After months of social media promo, special events, and whispers heard the city-wide, CHEESEWERKS is opening next Friday the 16th at 56 Bathurst Street. The adult-grilled cheese joint (it’ll be licensed) will boast variations on the classic – and some delightful twists – and is hosting a Free Lunch Friday from 12-2pm on opening day so you can sample their take on the classic.

HOHOTO
This fundraiser has become one of the high points of the holiday season. HOHOTO began as a social media movement in late 2008, and is now known amongst pretty much all of Toronto’s Twitterati. On December 15th, help raise some much-needed funds for Toronto’s Daily Bread Food Bank while mixing with the city’s top Twitterholics and YPs at The Mod Club.

New Years Eve in Toronto (plan ahead)

In just 3 short weeks (+ 1 day) it will be NYE 2012, the buzz is already surfacing – I’ve received tons of inquiries. I’ve narrowed down my top 3 pics for you and yours; the hottest Toronto Lounge, a sit-down dinner and party (think: same place Madonna and Clooney partied in during TIFF), and … a Castle! Check out notable.ca/nye for the details.

LOCO for LOCAL
Pop-up shops have moved from gimmick into somewhat standard fare here in the city, and this weekend sees the duo behind Muttonhead recruiting a small league of local designers, artists, wares producers and the like to NACO Gallery (1665 Dundas West) for a 4-day-long (it ends Sunday) stint selling their local and interesting clothing, accessories, grooming products and more.
