Must Try: Home of the Brave

The barons of bites and booze, La Carnita, have opened a second restaurant, albeit not quite LCesque. The Home of the Brave opened up recently on King West. Instead of tacos and tequilas and Mexicana aplenty, you’ll instead find what might very well be the next big food trend in the city…

The Home of the Brave is an ode to Americana, executed brilliantly by the team that’s given us so much to salivate over. Eschewing Latin-American deliciousness in lieu of simple American gluttony, look for dishes like a fried Bologna sandwich with housemade American cheese, broccoli and grits with mushroom gravy, and Johnny cakes with smoked trout.

The beer list continues the theme of the resto, with American faves Anchor Steam, Brooklyn Lager, and Founders Centennial IPA rounding out the south of the border offerings. Cocktails, likewise, salute Old Glory, with concoctions like the Bronx and the Blinker on hand to sate your sipping needs.

The Home of the Brave is bringing the States to the King West Strip. Are you brave enough to test it out…?
